Chrysalis: the “Indicible” in the transformation of the image (Project in progress) Indicible – which cannot be expressed in words, due to its intense, strange and extraordinary character. (French adj.) I’ve been working on this concept by doing a performance in 2015.
The leitmotif of this project is the image itself. The characters are transformed into elements that convey a transgression in space, becoming inanimate beings that are constructed as one more object in the composition. The role of the characters is performative, changing the relationship between the space and the objects that accompany them. I am interested in how the attempt to naturalize the compositions manages to emphasize a built environment, making us participants in this disturbing representation that turns the characters into objects, as simple visual elements. Removing emotions and feelings by covering all or part of the faces, so as not to distract the public from the real focus. It is a reflection on the immediacy of a society where our identity is affected by consumption patterns.
It is a project that consists of a series of oil paintings on canvas in different Sizes, oil on mirrors and an installation of object-files with drawings of progression.
